EF&EE has received another order for an advanced Compact SCR™ system designed to meet 0.07 pounds of NOx per megawatt-hour. The 0.07 lb/MWh standard is beyond current "best available control technology", and is not required for air quality permitting. It is required in order for a natural gas cogeneration system to qualify for the Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP). This system will be installed on a 310 kW reciprocating natural gas engine in a cogeneration system at a commercial nursery. An air quality permit based on present BACT of 0.15 g/BHP-hr (0.44 lb/MWh) has already been issued by the San Joaquin Valley Air Unified Air Pollution Control District.

EF&EE has received an order for a Compact SCR™ system to be installed on a 600 kW biogas-fueled reciprocating engine in a cogeneration project at a Sacramento County dairy. This system is guaranteed to meet current BACT for natural gas engines of 0.15 g/BHP-hr.

EF&EE has received an order for an advanced Compact SCR™ system for a 1000 kW natural gas reciprocating engine to be installed in the new cogeneration system for an agro-industrial plant in Elk Grove, California. This will be the first reciprocating engine SCR system designed to meet the California distributed generation standard of 0.07 pounds of NOx per megawatt-hour. The 0.07 lb/MWh standard is beyond current "best available control technology", and is not required for air quality permitting. It is required for a natural gas cogeneration system to qualify for the Self-Generation Incentive Program, and for sale of excess power to SMUD. An air quality permit based on present BACT has already been issued by the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District.

SCAX #865, the first SCR-equipped locomotive in North America, has returned to service with a redesigned catalyst assembly, designed to correct catalyst cracking problems experienced in the original installation. Emission testing shows NOx and PM reductions of 71% and 61%, respectively, in the EPA line-haul locomotive test cycle. In the switch locomotive cycle, the reductions are 61% and 57% , respectively.

Combined heat-and-power (CHP) engines with Compact SCR™ meet 0.14 lb/MWh NOx. Emission testing showed that the combined heat-and-power systems at Highway 70 Industrial Park, Oroville, CA, meet the California Energy Commission's interim standard of 0.14 lb/MWh, qualifying these engines to receive incentives under the Self Generation Incentive Program (SGIP).
